Why Shawnee Residents Choose Sumit's

Shawnee is one of the fastest-growing suburbs in Johnson County, and more of its residents are finding their way to our studio every month. The drive south from Shawnee to our Olathe location is a straight, easy shot — no highway maze, no stressful merges. Just 15 to 20 minutes and you're walking through our doors.

Whether you live near Shawnee Mission Park, the neighborhoods along Nieman Road, or the newer developments west of K-7, getting to us feels effortless. A lot of our Shawnee students say the drive itself becomes part of their practice — a few quiet minutes to shift gears before stepping into the heat.

Shawnee has a character all its own: established tree-lined streets alongside brand-new construction, a strong sense of community, and people who value taking care of themselves. Our studio fits right into that mindset. Once you step into a 104°F class and feel what authentic hot yoga can do, you will understand why your neighbors keep coming back.

What Shawnee Students Won't Find Closer to Home

Every class at Sumit's Hot Yoga KC takes place in a room heated to 104°F. This is not a warm room with a few space heaters or infrared panels on the wall — it's a purpose-built heating system that keeps the temperature steady and even from the moment you walk in until the final rest.

Our classes follow a methodology developed by Sumit Banerjee, combining traditional hot yoga foundations with thoughtful, modern sequencing. We offer nine different class types so you can find the right fit for any given day — from our signature Sumits 80, an accessible 80-minute flow, to Yin Nidra, a restorative session that pairs yin postures with guided relaxation.

First-timers and long-time practitioners share the same room here. Our instructors teach to every level at once, offering modifications and progressions so that everyone gets exactly what they need from each class.
